Towards the south of the island, just before you come to an extremely secluded bay, you’ll find a beautiful valley that meanders down through coconut trees to the beach. This was the setting for Karina and Alessandro’s wedding. The grass, trees and surrounding foliage were all deep greens, contrasting with the dark blues and purple of the flowers that bedecked the gazebo.
Karina stepped down the aisle that had been made while a friend played on a piano specially put up for the occasion. The ceremony was in English, with the highlights were explained in their native Russian by another friend, a gifted MC.
Alessandro said that the wedding was the highlight of their celebrations – “it’s technically our third wedding together. The first was the legal wedding, the next was in an Orthodox church, but it’s this one that feels like the real thing.”
Their friends and family had come to be with them on this special day – they all seemed to be enjoying themselves immensely.
