Up on Samui’s north-east coast, there’s a beautiful bay that is the venue for quite a few weddings. Today’s couple exchanged vows and rings here, before going off to have their reception. There were just a half dozen family members present, but they all enjoyed themselves. This was one of an increasing number of weddings that I’m performing for Chinese couples. No, I don’t speak Chinese so rely on the couple being able to speak some English (not much is required and the words they say to each other can be in Chinese if they so wish) or there’s an interpreter on hand. This afternoon we had a short rehearsal up in the hotel and then made our way down to the beach for a wonderful ceremony.
